The Paddletek Tempest Veyra Widebody 16mm is a full-foam paddle in Paddletek's Tempest line. It pairs a 16mm foam core with a micro-textured T700 raw carbon fiber hitting surface, in a widebody 16 in × 8 in shape with a 5.75 in handle.
Paddletek categorizes the Veyra as an all-around paddle. Earlier Tempest paddles used a polymer honeycomb core; the Veyra moves to foam, which our catalog classifies as Gen 4 construction.
What's Inside
16mm EPP Foam Core
The Veyra is built around a single EPP foam core, 16mm thick. Paddletek designed it to give a smooth, consistent response across the paddle face.
Damping Rods
Two patent-pending rods made of flexible steel wire with a vibration-damping elastomer coating sit inside the paddle. Paddletek places them to add weight around the perimeter, absorb vibration on contact, and resist twisting on off-center hits.
Micro-Textured T700 Raw Carbon Fiber Face
The hitting surface is Paddletek's PTK micro-textured T700 raw carbon fiber, a gritty textured face designed to generate spin.
Widebody Shape
At 16 in long and 8 in wide, the widebody shape has a broader hitting surface than the Veyra Elongated (16.5 in × 7.5 in). Paddletek describes the widebody as the more forgiving of the two Veyra shapes.
