FAQ
Where do you get your paddles?
I am an authorized dealer for several pickleball paddle companies. So those paddles I buy directly from the company. I also do get trade-in’s sometimes.
I am an authorized dealer for the following brands: Diadem, Engage, GRUVN, Holbrook, Honolulu, Hudef, JOOLA, Legacy, Paddletek, Pickleball Apes, Pro XR, ProDrive, Ronbus, SixZero, Standout, Vatic, and Volair
What paddle do you play with?
I am one of those crazy pickleball fanatics that come to the court with a big bag of all different types of paddles. What I grab depends on whether it is rec play or I’m out for blood. 🙂 It also depends on what type of player I am playing against and if there are certain shots I am trying to work on. And sometimes it just depends on my mood. If one paddle just doesn’t seem to feel right that day, I’ll just go grab another.
What paddle should I buy?
Sorry but there is no easy answer for this one. There are so many different paddles out there to choose from. We have made a quiz to help you narrow down the options. It is under the Paddles tab under 'Need Help Deciding?' If you still have questions, or want a more personalized recommendation, just send me a message.
How do you ship?
I generally ship via U.S. Postal service because of the price, and it is convenient to drop off there in my small town. I generally ship within one business day and then it is just the travel time to your destination. That is usually 2-3 days. In general, if you order a paddle from me, you can expect it in within about 4-5 business days.
Do you offer discounts?
Yes, we always have sales running. If you are interested in learning about these sales, check out the HTP membership product under the paddles tab. I will also post these on my Facebook page Hometown Pickleball, so be sure to follow that. You can also contact me as there are sometimes coupon codes I can give out through a private message or text me at 423-215-5683.
How can I contact you?
There is a few ways to contact us. You can reach out via email through hometownpickleball@hotmail.com or hometownpickleballgh@gmail.com. My cell is (423) 215-5683 and Gabe's cell is (423) 539-6552.
I’m having an issue with payment. What can I do?
If you would like to pay other than through the website that is fine. I take Zelle, PayPal, Venmo or credit card through Square. I also accept checks that have been cleared. Just contact me and we can work it out. Note that paddles purchased in Tennessee or shipped to Tennessee are going to have added state sales tax. Paddles purchased outside of the United States cannot be processed through the website.
Describe your business.
Hometown Pickleball is a family-run business. My wife takes care of the business & paperwork, my daughter does a lot of my website design, and my son loves to help test out the paddles. The advantage to being a family business is we can keep costs low. The disadvantage is that I don’t have exact hours. My priority is family, so if it is family time, answering messages or shipping paddles will have to wait. I know there are some big companies out there you can buy paddles from. My goal is to provide you with a better price, fast service and that personal touch. I want you to have that personal “Home Town” experience.

from 554 reviewsVery good paddle!!
John is great to do business with. He's knowledgeable and you can tell he's passionate about the game.
I'm a big fan of the V1 widebody so I was excited to get the V2 updated version. 5 stars so far. I feel like the resets are a little better with enough pop.
Love the Ronbus Quanta, it plays pretty similar to the Selkirk Boomstick. It has great power and pop with plenty of control. I did add a little weight to dial it in. Overall, I highly recommend the paddle and Hometown Pickleball for providing great service.
Hometownpickleball is great fast easy and the right price. Love the paddle
I don’t buy new paddles! I got sponsored 10 years ago and have used the same paddle for 10 years, people had tried to get me to change my paddle over the years, they would let me use theirs, and none of them felt comfortable. This one felt comfortable immediately, and I am enjoying it a lot! I know it gives me more pop and is later than my last one so I have better chances of getting quick net shots for angles.
Awesome paddle...pop, control,spin..All Around Paddle
A1A first class operation, just received my second Paddle from them. Fast shipping and no hassles at all and very quick on shipping to California.
Everything was absolutely perfect from start to finish. First time doing business with them and have already purchased a second paddle from them.
Great selection, fast shipping I’ve bought at least five or six paddles
Always the best quality products and fast delivery. Great customer service fast responds A+++
All honesty, I am a beginner player. Started playing this spring and had just the beginner pickle ball set on sale at Amazon (4 paddles, 2 ball set). I enjoyed the sport a lot and so decided to upgrade my paddle.
This paddle improved my game immensely. I have more control on the ball, huge sweet spot, I am getting some spin on the ball and still can have power when I need it even with the advanced touch the paddle gives me.
Love the paddle, and the cover and cleaning pad are excellent as well. Very very happy with the paddle.
Low swing weight allows for weight customization.
As far as power and listening to reviews comparing it to a boomstick I would disagree.
I am a 77 year old male and would compare the power similar to or maybe a very slight touch more than a J2CR either carbon fiber or blue facing. Certainly controllable. Like the 41/8" grip. Good pop on counters but controllable. Again similar to J2CR.
