The Paddletek Bantam Jolt Widebody 16mm is a full-foam paddle from Paddletek's Bantam line, which Paddletek positions as its power series. It uses a 16mm FlexCore™ foam core and a micro-textured T700 raw carbon fiber hitting surface, in a widebody 16 in × 8 in shape with a 5.5 in handle.
Earlier Bantam paddles used a polymer honeycomb core; the Jolt moves to foam, which our catalog classifies as Gen 4 construction.
What's Inside
FlexCore™ Foam Grid
The center of the paddle is an EPP foam grid with a precision-scored pattern, surrounded by an EVA foam perimeter ring. Paddletek designed the grid to flex and compress on contact, which it says increases dwell time (how long the ball stays on the face) and helps generate spin.
Micro-Textured T700 Raw Carbon Fiber Face
The hitting surface is Paddletek's PTK micro-textured T700 raw carbon fiber, a gritty textured face designed to generate spin.
Widebody Shape
At 16 in long and 8 in wide, the widebody shape has a broader hitting surface than the Jolt Elongated (16.5 in × 7.5 in). Paddletek describes the widebody as the more forgiving of the two Jolt shapes.
