Selkirk does a couple of limited colorways a year, and they tend to move quicker than anyone plans for. Calypso is this summer's, and it's on the shelf at hometown pickleball now.

It's a blue-green fade — lime at the top of the face, through spring green, down into a deep Caribbean teal — framed by a white edge guard and a white grip. In person it's brighter than the photos suggest, especially outdoors. If you've been swinging a black paddle for two years, this is the opposite of that.

The part that matters for anyone deciding: Calypso is a colorway, not a new paddle. Same core, same face, same weights, same certifications as the standard versions. What you're actually choosing is the model underneath it — and Selkirk put Calypso on two that play very differently.

The OMNI in Calypso — $299.99

The OMNI is Selkirk's Gen 4 all-court platform. The core is ReactCore: a PureFoam floating centre with a PureFoam ring and an EVA power ring around it, sitting behind a Multistrata T700 carbon face with Selkirk's InfiniGrit texture on top. Both shapes carry the Adjustable MOI Tuning System — the two removable 7.5g weights you can see clipped to the edge guard — so you can move the balance around without taping up a paddle you just paid three hundred dollars for.

Both are 16mm, and both are USAP and UPA-A approved.

OMNI Elongated

16.5" × 7.45" · 5.8" handle · 8.05 oz · 116 swing weight · 6.7 twist

The longer face and longer handle buy you reach on stretched volleys and leverage from the baseline. Mid weight, and we'd put it with intermediate and advanced players — it asks a little more of you than the widebody does. This is the elongated shape if you've been curious about it.

OMNI Widebody

15.95" × 8" · 5.6" handle · 8.3 oz · 110 swing weight · 7.7 twist

Wider face, bigger sweet spot, and a lower swing weight than the elongated despite being the heavier paddle — that combination is why it feels calmer in a hands battle. Beginner through intermediate, and the easier of the two to pick up cold. It's one of the more forgiving widebody paddles we carry.

The LABS Project Boomstik in Calypso — $332.99

The Boomstik comes out of Selkirk LABS, which is where Selkirk puts the builds that aren't trying to be for everybody. The core is BoomCore — foam again, with an EVA power ring — behind a three-layer Multistrata T700 carbon face and the same InfiniGrit surface. Same MOI Tuning System on the edge guard.

Boomstik Elongated

16.5" × 7.45" · 5.8" handle · 8.2 oz · 118 swing weight · 7.2 twist

The heaviest-swinging paddle of the three, and the one built around a single job rather than around versatility — it lives with our other power paddles for a reason. Intermediate and up. USAP approved, and UPA-A approved without the MOI clamp fitted, which is worth knowing if you play pro-level UPA-A events.

So which one?

The short version:

• You want reach, and you're comfortable swinging a longer paddle — OMNI Elongated.
• You want the most margin for error — OMNI Widebody.
• You already know you want power, and you've played elongated before — Boomstik Elongated.

If you're torn between the OMNI and the Boomstik, the deciding question isn't the $33. It's whether you want one paddle that does everything reasonably well, or one that's clearly built for one thing. The OMNI is the first. The Boomstik is the second.

Limited colorways don't get restocked. When Calypso is gone at Selkirk, it's gone — so what's on the shelf is what there is. No pressure beyond that, and we'll tell you straight if we think you'd be better off waiting for something else.
